Dear Students and Parents:

This planning guide provides information about Henrico County Public Schools middle – and high – school programs and courses. HCPS endeavors to ensure that all of our students have opportunities to take part in a quality educational program that will prepare them to be globally competitive citizens who are life-ready! It is our hope that this planning guide will be of assistance to our students and their families as they consider the many courses and programs available in our middle and high schools .

It is important that students and parents engage in open dialogue with counselors, teachers, and administrators in the development of an Academic and Career plan that will prepare each student to meet their own goals and interests as well as to meet the challenges of life beyond the K-12 educational setting.

Together, as a team, we will continue to provide excellent opportunities for all students that will allow them not only to acquire the academic knowledge they need but to develop and master the essential life skills outlined in the HCPS graduate profile; critical and creative thinking, communication and collaboration, quality character and global citizenship.
