Description

  • This course is offered as an occupational course at the completion of Nurse Aide II or Nurse Aide II condensed 

  • This course emphasizes the study of nursing occupations relative to the health care system

  • The student will study normal growth and development, simple body structure and function, medical terminology and be introduced to microbes and disease.

  • Upon completion of this course students will have mastered skills needed to perform electrocardiograms, execute basic medical, lab and exam procedures and provide basic patient/client care

  • The student will develop leadership, interpersonal and career skills and explore interests related to high quality work based learning opportunities

Upon completion of this course, the student will be eligible to take the National Certification Exams to become Certified Phlebotomy Technicians, Certified ECG Technicians, and Certified Patient Care Technicians.
