Description

Algebra 1 is the foundational course of the high school mathematics course offerings.  It emphasizes the basic structure of the real number system and the techniques of algebra as reflections of this structure.  While the main focus of this course promotes algebraic skills, geometric and statistical concepts are integrated into the course to develop skills for practical applications. Topics covered include:

  • Represent problem situations using expressions, equations, and inequalities

  • Graph and solve linear and quadratic functions

  • Apply algebraic concepts and processes to the real world 

Students will take the Algebra I SOL assessment to earn 1 verified credit
